I was reading the Examiner today, and there was an ad for upcoming vacancies on various city boards and committees. The Edmonton Design Committee is expected to have one vacancy coming up. Seems like something a lot of people on here would relish and would add value to the city.

Application deadline is Oct 7 at 4:30 pm.
www.edmonton.ca/recruitment

There are also openings in:

Community Services Advisory Board (4 openings)
Edmonton Historical Board (1)
Transit System Advisory Board (2)
Assessment Review Board (3)
Subdivisoin & Development Appeal Board (5)
and others.

Talking and discussing on this site is a great start, but being part of these committees takes it one step further and allows us to shape the future of the city.

Check it out!

B. Allsopp discussed the 2009 Edmonton Design Committee member re-appointment. S. Kaba, B. Davidson, W. Jule, and J. Whetzel have officially given their resignation. The Alberta Association of Architects has requested a letter from the Edmonton Design Committee requesting them to consider re-appointing B. Allsopp, A. Fris, and K.
