Toronto has The CN Tower, Vancouver has Harbour Centre and of course Clagary has The Calgary tower. But does Edmonton have an observation deck? I mean other than the rotating restaurant above the Crowne Plaza Edmonton where I think you have to use the restaurant to view the city, do we have any observation decks in the downtown towers?

One of the Telus towers had one.

Telus's version was called Vista 33. I think they closed it a few years ago.

Nope.

Yes, the city needs one. Vista 33 was great.

yeah we definately need one, especially with all the new highrises going up in the next few years. but is there even a building in this city that allows you to go up and view the skyline even if its just from a stairwell? lol

EPCOR , Ken?
Or do they consider public access too high of a risk and liability as I assume that most of the other building operaters do?.

they are not done with their space planning but the top spaces are likely to be staff amenity/meeting spaces as they will have access to one of the "green roofs" - i.e. green where there is no access if that makes sense in a post - although that is not the only level where that happens. even if that changes, i would think the security risks would preclude open public access to any of their floors, not just the top.

Does anyone have any pictures from Vista 33?

I have seen the youtub video showing the view, but it doesn't show what the inside of the observation floor looked like. I never have been up there myself. It is a shame that is closed now.

Must be something in the archives. It was Alberta Government Telephones after all.
