All,

Thank you for your support and patience. I will say it again, I am humbled

The new version is up and running. This is just the forum. The whole Content Management Server is tocome.

I also have one more upgrade to do to version 5.2.2 That will come in the next couple of days as I let this version stabilize.

I will gladly take suggestions via Private Message or inthis thread.

I will let this version stabilize over the weekend, and thenupgrade to vBulletin 5.2.2

Not a fan of vBulletin's standard layout. But I know this is still a work in progress. Thanks so much for getting this back up and running Richard!

Yup. I am so not going to put in anything custom yet. I have had a hard enough time getting this to this point.

There are more upgrades to go yet, but I am going to let this stabilize. I will not guarantee that your posts from this point until the final upgrade are going to be kept.

Hey that's ok. Still fantastic to see all the posts from the last 10 years saved. Thanks again for your hard work!

Congrats to Richard for a successful upgrade, a Herculean task. When time permits you should sit back and bask in your accomplishment and the gratitude from all of us who have come to consider it a second home.

I have everything saved until I had to take it down. That is guaranteed. Everything since then until this is completed is not a guarantee.

Well, the old stuff is as guaranteed as 15 backup files can be.

Truly appreciate your effort Richard. C2E going down was like losing family. You cannot fathom how long a workday feels like when there's no C2E during the slow periods ;)

:(

After 3000+ database issues, multiple CMS failures, and a plethora of other issues, I give up on upgrading to v5 this weekend.

Here's the secure v4. I took it down in a hurry as the old v4 was fairly wide open to get the upgrade in. The servers are now secure.

I'm going to leave this up as it is a sunny day, and I have some work to do.

I'll try the v5 upgrade soon. I want to go there for the publishing suite and other options I need to launch the revisions many have asked for.

For now, welcome back.

PS - I need several bottles of vodka or rum to forget this nonsense!!!!

PPS the [email protected] address is back up.

Thank you so much Richard (and Chris). I actually had to work last week with C2E down!!! Keep up the good work, is there anything that can be done to help subsidize the site, ads, subscription fees, donations, etc?

Yup, good job Chris for being quick with the GoFundMe page and of course Richard taking the time to do this. My heart sank a couple weeks ago when I logged in late that night to see the "site is offline" write up. This is better than the best Christmas present!

Thanks to all.

Mike

Richard interview with Global. BTW I've always thought that Rich is the long-lost brother of Gord Steinke!

^ Hah! What a handsome lad. Would look even better in a 'Riders jersey.

Thanks once again, RichardS, for what you've done and what you do. Kudos to CV7 for the funding initiative. Thanks to those that help out in whatever way they can.

What a nice surprise to return from vacation to see c2e risen from the ashes. Such a good story.

Is this the appropriate thread to post ideas on long term sustainability and funding sources such as ads for the C2E Forum?

Thanks again Richard and nice to see this back up again. I think we need to do a fundraiser every year to make sure it's sustainable and not one persons burden.

Great work, Richard! And I'm both pleased and amazed to see what a community C2E has really become. Indispensable, it would seem.

Glad to be back.
