Through the wonder of Google notices, a link to this cyclist's blog (http://midlifecycling.blogspot.com/2010/10/critical-lasses-in-edmonton.html#comment-form) arrived in my inbox just now.

A "mid life cyclist" and "woman on a bike" from New York City says she has to visit Edmonton:

" Now I have to take a trip to Edmonton.

No, I'm not going there to take in an Oilers' game. And, while the idea of biking or hiking in the Rockies and taking in the Edmonton night life appeals to me, I've never made going there one of my goals.

Lately, as a result of Sarah Chen's Girls and Bicycles blog (http://www.girlsandbicycles.ca/), I've been reading about Edmonton's bicycle scene. Until I came across her blog, I thought that cycling in Edmonton looked something like this:"

Great to see. Check it out. And in case you didn't know, the wonderful Sarah Chen is married to the equally wonderful Don Iveson. I love those folks!

Sarah, along with the other women cyclists in town who blog (including Terraskye) are great. I admire the dedication that many of them have to being stylish cyclists, and to riding stylish cycles.

I've finally found a maintenance routine for my bike that seems to work, but I can't even imagine having to add the whole aesthetics-thing on top of it. I did just buy some snazzy 5.10 shoes, but I don't think that counts. :smt085
