Edmonton needs a large, public beach facility on a made man lake, similar to the private lake in the Summerside community south of Ellerslie Road. For the past 25 years, Calgary has had a public lake, Sikome Lake, near Fish Creek Park in south Calgary. Edmonton's only outdoor public swimming are the public pools which are not a beach experience. Alternatively, Edmontonians must drive an hour or so to surrounding lakes with beaches such as Pigeon Lake or Miquelon Lake. A public beach area would be great summer asset for this City and finally give us a lake similar to what Calgary has had since the early 1980's.

Id also like to see some beaches made in louise mckinney or the like, sure maybe not for swimming, but beach volleyball and even just suntanning.
